You gotta laugh...
I got bored tonight and wandered out by myself (no henchies), in Shiverpeaks and other areas, and some of Cantha. It's hilarious when you see a lone creature and fight him, all of a sudden they appear all around you, and of course you die. None on the radar, etc.. It's hilarious to think about it, if you factor in how they must have programmed creature responses to solo players, (in their eyes farming etc..) and how we could possibly grab some good stuff (yeah that'll happen) and they actually paid the developers a good salary to protect stuff.. THAT DOES NOT EXIST!
LOL I mean the developers must love their jobs. Man to get paid like they do, to write code to protect imaginary loot. At least I hope they laugh themselves because if not, I hope they do not take it seriously.. I don't..
ROFL
Thing is, like Scotty said in one of the Star Trek movies.. "The more sophisticated the plumbing, the easier it is to stuff up the pipes.."
For those that get frustrated, step back and watch how things happen, you'll see patterns, and can find your way right thru them. No massive builds, or killer weapons needed. Just unscrew your common sense (Nods to the late Douglas Adams for teaching me that..) and you can walk thru most anywhere. This is all runners do, they are not better than you at playing, but by shear repetition they know the patterns etc..
Like I said, ya gotta laugh

Well it is late, it may have been lost. I was remarking how it struck me as funny, that so much work has gone into protecting the drops etc of loot. I mean I understand it is part of the game, not complaining in the least. It just seemed funny. Think about it, writing code and testing etc.. hours, days on end. Then beta, etc.. to guard stuff that doesn't exist.. Oh well maybe it's just me..lol
In RL we have crime and wars, etc.. all the daily woes, and concerns. And effort went into stopping me from hunting alone and looting lol
Ok g'nite.. I'm rambling.. (I'm a programmer so maybe I see it from a different angle )

Ok ok ok, so... your post is vented frustraition at the fact you're pervented from killing high level things solo because... so you say... monsters randomly appear when you try to take on one that seems alone.
I haven't noticed this phenomina of which you speak, aside from the Oni appearing in factions to ruin your day, hehe. Even then, the Oni appear to be in specific location anyways (could be wrong on that).
Really, sounds like another case of "oh noes! i'm playing the wrong game!"... Lineage II is always there if you want to be mr solo man, but if you're logged into Guild Wars, you're logged into a team based online role playing game.

His point is that triggered encounters in an area where they're not logical in the sense of "triggered encounters are usually to protect loot" aren't necessarily the best thing to spend time on putting into a game. A valid point, I'd say. After all, everyone is always asking for more more more in Guild Wars, and monster encounters in areas where they don't have much effect in terms of gameplay are probably not the "more" that people are looking for.
Haven't confirmed any triggered encounters that don't make sense myself, though. Oni, scarabs, azures and such. I guess the azures are somewhat pointless in a lot of the Southern Shiverpeaks, but they're pretty consistent about not being corporeal until they're in your danger zone.

Lol, lighten up people.
Point is, stressing out about farming farms that don't exist is stupid.
Of course, some people need to spend more time on non-esistent farms (or not). :P
mmm, beer.

Oh me.. All I meant was I know the work involved, to write the code, etc.. and figured the developers must have at least once said to themselves "all this work to protect stuff that doesn't exist.." LOL I'm not mad at it, or because of it.. Just thought it was funny..
Think of it this way, they spent hours, weeks and months perfecting the code to send griffons at me if I attack one by itself.. I mean whoa.. Error trapping is bad enough to do, but to sit and think of what we might do and their planned response.. They have got to laugh a lot, when they think.. "ok sparky go out by yourself in shiverpeaks and see what happens.."
LOL Again, this is not a complaint, or vent.. just an observation

Well yeah, what makes GW pretty cool is that the AI is fun when paired with the limited skillset one can take out to repeatedly massacre those evil robot villains.
:P
I was gonna edit my post but my ability was temporarily revoked, but back now, etc :P

It has kinda been on and off for me. At times, the button seems to have dissapeared off the face of the earth. Right now, it links me to a different search than I'm used to.

LMAO
Never thought of it that way before. But I guess it is meant to balance the game so its worth its while if it keeps the game interesting.
Or at least gives you a good laugh

Just because you're paranoid, it doesn't mean people aren't out to get you.

My mesmer wears a tinfoil hat for a reason.
There is no 'solo player response' in the game that I have ever seen... and I've been around.

My doppleganger follows me now. I know it's been changing into the form of various monsters to hide it's tracks as it keeps trying to kill me after that ascending fiasco.

There are no solo monsters. The rest of their party was probably off screen and got aggroed by your attack on one of their party.
